Floral Wedding Ideas

We have a guest blogger today! One of our recent brides, Lauren, has created this “how-to” do flowers tutorial for your wedding! Follow the links below the pictures to discover more ideas.

Lets talk about flowers! Flowers are gorgeous and they can make a room, a venue, or your work desk complete.  There are so many different shades, textures and detail in each one.  When it comes to weddings, brides are always thinking of cute new ways to style and design the natural and beautiful thing to complete their vision.  Did I mention how amazing they smell?

Here are a few fun ways to incorporate flowers on your big day:

1. Add a delicate and simple flower crown to your veil.

2. Belt your bridal party with flowers to bring texture and natural beauty to their attire.

3. Will you be walking down the isle in sand? This is a cute addition to a beach wedding where the sand is soft, the view is gorgeous and the company is ready to celebrate.

4. Here is a fun and amazing prop that can be used for your photo sesh in between the ceremony & reception.

5. And if you are anything like me, adding initials to your big day is a total must.  Maybe have a monogram above your sweetheart table? Or spell out the word SWEET or XOXO at your dessert bar? Having these letters filled with gorgeous flowers instantly adds to your big day.

6. And who wouldn’t want to escape in an adorable convertible with floral garland on the back? This makes a cute way to say “Au Revoir” to your guest and an amazing shot taken by the photographer.

Summer Love: keeping guest cool when the weather is hot

Happy summer everyone! We hope you are as excited for this season as we are here at Ooh La Love. Summer weather allows you to enjoy your events outdoors but it can also get very warm and uncomfortable. We’ve come up with some yummy ways to keep your guest cool at your summer events.

Edible Flower Popsicle’s are perfect touch to your summer Bridal or Baby Shower. They are girly, dainty and beautiful!

We love the idea of a Champagne Ice Cream Cart during cocktail hour at a Summer Wedding!  Or how about offering guests spiked popsicles at the bar? Check out the recipe for Mojito Popsicles here.

Presentation is key! Placing a popsicle in a glass and topping it with champagne is a great alternative to the mimosa bar at a bridal shower. Check out a delicious recipe for a  Mimosa Sorbet.

Karen + David {Engagement Party}

With the weather turning cold here in L.A. we are missing warm weather and long summer nights. There is nothing better than lighting some candles, opening a bottle of wine (or a few) and breathing in the warm summer air with people that you love. Since summer is long gone, we thought would warm you up a bit with a dinner party with so many of our favorite touches.  David and Karen are such a fun couple with great style, and they wanted to celebrate their engagement with their closest family and friends. With a little help from a few of our friends (an amazing team of vendors) we were able to help this sweet couple celebrate in style. Congratulations David and Karen, we are so happy for you two!

Paper Flowers

I have to admit I am having a moment with over sized paper flowers right now, and by a moment I mean a serious obsession. Giant flowers are the perfect whimsicle backdrop for a ceremony space, dessert table or photo booth. The possibilities are endless!  I love the look of an all white statement wall featuring flowers with different shapes and sizes, and with a simple uplight you can really bring the drama.

Think buying these beauties will break the bank? Here is a great DIY tutorial from Design Sponge and Ruche!

Either way, if you decide to buy or give the DIY a try you can’t go wrong. These giant flowers are sure to make an impression on your guests and add an element of fun to any event design.
